JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund has awarded $447,698.07 to 27 grant projects across the state, including more than $94,000 total to five projects in Teton County, the organization announced Wednesday.
The grants will fund arts, culture and community-focused projects by Wyoming nonprofits and government agencies. This year, funds were used for projects such as historic preservation, interpretive signage, museum and art exhibits, folklore festivals, concerts, equipment and touring theater events.
In Teton County, grants were awarded to the following organizations for proposed projects:
- $7,100 to learn about Wyoming’s indigenous culture through art partners’ art
- $7,500 for Jackson Hole Public Art Resident Mural Project
- Salt River Arts Association Architects and $35,000 Donation to Ford Theater Renovation
- $10,490 for Teton County Fair & Fairgrounds Community Building Western Heritage Mural
- Wind River Community Alliance donates $34,000 to the Wind River Indian Reservation for arts and culture kits for all children.
The grant awarded in Teton County is among the largest announced this year. The largest grant, $50,000, went to the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum of Johnson County’s 1909 Carnegie Building restoration project.
Statewide grant recipients may also be listed locally. These include:
- Buffalo Youth Nation Project Excavation: $21,000 for Ancient Indigenous Life Revealed in Greater Yellowstone Documentary
- Donate $14,000 to Central Wyoming College Foundation’s 2024 Indigenous Education Day and Teton Powwow
- $12,000 for Off Square Theater Company’s 2024 Thin Air Shakespeare Tour
- $7,000 for Trinkle Brass Works’ Cowboy Overture Tour
- $19,000 donated to Wyoming Historical Society’s Wyoming History Online Encyclopedia, WyoHistory.org
