It hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the Warriors lately, losing five of their last seven games and falling to 17-19 on the season.
Despite the loss, there were some bright spots, including Golden State’s 133-118 loss to the Toronto Raptors at Chase Center on Sunday, which showed star point guard Stephen Curry’s honest remorse after the game. Ta.
“The level of concern increases [with] “The more nights like tonight,” Curry, who made 2 of 14 from the field and failed to make a 3-pointer in the loss, told reporters. How to leave early, please give us life.
“When things get tough, it’s my nature to think about what I can do. So I’m going to stay out there and respond the way I know how.”
Curry praised Klay Thompson, who has struggled with his shooting this season, for his 25-point performance and for “giving his all” in the loss. Draymond Green’s long-term absence certainly hasn’t made things any easier, but Steve Kerr’s rotation will likely fluctuate this season as the Warriors coach once again tries to find the right formula between veterans and youth. Curry believes it was difficult for Golden State to adjust.
“We’re mixing up some lineups. The challenge for us is, as we say, finding chemistry and finding an identity as quickly as possible with the hand we’ve been given this year,” Curry continued. “We failed that test tonight, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t come into Wednesday with the right mentality, the right confidence and the right approach to bounce back and we have to try again.
“We don’t want to be the record that was broken here, but that’s the challenge for us.”
The Warriors hope Green’s impending return to the court will help them realize their identity and strengthen their defense. In the meantime, they’ll need to focus on allaying concerns as they welcome the New Orleans Pelicans to Chase Center on Wednesday.
