The not-so-star Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s fundraising gala has been put on life support, even though several big-name stars who were said to have been invited have publicly denied knowing anything about the event. In response, the political scion suddenly criticized his own party. He would never die supporting him and be captured, he promised loudly.
Kennedy’s press corps told The Daily Beast in a statement Monday that he will no longer attend the Jan. 22 event hosted by a super PAC supporting Kennedy’s presidential bid.
PAC, American Values 2024, announced an event last week at X, daily mail Celebrities including Dionne Warwick, Martin Sheen, Mike Tyson and Andrea Bocelli will reportedly all be at the venue to wish Kennedy a happy return.
Warwick almost immediately balked at the idea, posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account: I didn’t agree with it and I’m definitely not going to participate in it. ”
“If you’re going to lie about my name, at least lie about something cool: ‘Reveal: Dionne collaborates with Rihanna on new album,'” she added.
Sheen soon followed suit, making his own statement through fictional works. West Wing Deputy Manager Chief of Staff played by actor Bradley Whitford in the hit political drama.
“There is a story going around that Martin Sheen is endorsing @RobertKennedyJr as a presidential candidate. This story is false,” Whitford posted on X last Thursday.
He added Sheen’s own statement, writing, “I wholeheartedly support President Joe Biden and his ticket to democracy in 2024.”
As of Monday, it was unclear whether the party would hold it at all, and American Values 2024 did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment.
