Regina Hall is infinitely grateful to her friend Vonda, who has been a major part of her support system over the past 15 years. In return for her longtime friend, horror film The star teamed up with design duo Drew and Jonathan Scott for a life-changing home renovation.

Based in Carson, California, Vonda is a single mother of two children. (Her daughter had sickle cell anemia. Fonda had a bone marrow match, a transplant was done, and her daughter is now free of sickle cell, but remains immune-compromised.) Vonda loves to cook as well as take care of her loved ones. And she entertains. So Hall and the Property Brothers stars formed the eponymous group The Demo Divas and set out to completely transform her home in Vonda.
Over the course of six weeks, the group worked in the kitchen, dining area, living room, and entry. The wall between the kitchen and living room was removed to create more space and create a space suitable for entertaining. The kitchen added a long peninsula with dolomite countertops and all-new cabinetry. We created additional storage in the dining room. A bright, fresh color palette featuring Vonda’s beloved copper accents brings cohesiveness to all spaces. Terrazzo tile floors in the entryway and a new fireplace highlighted with Venetian plaster in the living room complement Vonda’s artistic style.
As a bonus, the team replaced the home’s air conditioning system. The 30-year-old system was so dirty that it was impossible to clean. They replaced it with a hospital-grade system with multiple filters for increased effectiveness and efficiency. That means Ms. Fonda can use it knowing it will be beneficial for her family, especially her immunocompromised daughter. Vonda was overjoyed. She said: “Knowing that you chose me for this, gave me something that I spent sleepless nights on, and now I can come here, bring it.” [my daughter] Here… I would like to thank you all. Thank you very much. I was overwhelmed. ”
