Delta Air Lines will expand its flight offerings this winter with new routes from Detroit to Tulum and Los Angeles to Mazatlan, while Aeromexico will add routes from Atlanta to Manzanillo, Newark to Mexico City and Denver to Monterrey, increasing the airlines’ combined seat capacity by 7%.
Delta Air Lines will begin serving Tulum (TQO) from Detroit on Jan. 11, marking Delta’s debut to the destination. Known for its beautiful beaches, ancient Mayan ruins and vibrant cultural scene, Tulum is a perfect destination for leisure and adventure seekers.

Delta plans to operate up to 50 flights per week from Detroit during the season to five destinations in Mexico, including Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta. In addition to flights from Atlanta and Minneapolis, Delta aims to operate 10 flights per week to Tulum, with four flights on Saturdays alone.
Delta Air Lines will also begin flying from Los Angeles to Mazatlan (MZT) on Dec. 21, increasing flight capacity from LAX to Mexico by 13% this year. Known for its charming malecón, historic architecture and sunny beaches, Mazatlan offers a rich combination of cultural exploration and aquatic adventures.
Delta and its partners remain the major international airlines based at Los Angeles International Airport, operating 32 international flights at peak times and Mazatlan will become the 20th international route from the hub.
Further expanding, Aeromexico will launch new flights from Atlanta to Manzanillo starting November 2 and from Los Angeles starting December 21. Known for its beautiful coastline and lush tropical landscapes, Manzanillo promises travelers a perfect blend of tranquility and excitement.
Delta Air Lines is promising more adventures in Mexico with new service from Minneapolis-Saint Paul to Mazatlan and Tulum, and enhanced service from Atlanta to Tulum.
Beginning October 27, Aeromexico will begin daily service between Newark, New Jersey and Mexico City, bringing its total number of flights between these major cities to five per day, significantly expanding its presence in the region.
On December 21, Aeromexico will launch new service connecting Denver with Monterrey (MTY), an important industrial and commercial center in Mexico.
Delta’s new route to Tulum and Mazatlan will operate on Saturdays on Boeing 737-800s and Airbus 319s with class options including First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin. First Class passengers will enjoy chef-designed meals and complimentary premium beverages. Delta Comfort+ passengers will enjoy additional comfort amenities and complimentary beverages. All passengers will enjoy more than 1,000 hours of complimentary premium entertainment in Delta Studio, in-seat power and free high-speed Wi-Fi for Delta SkyMiles members.
